Dr. Witt began his career with an apprenticeship as a technical draughtsman in mechanical engineering. He then studied mechanical engineering at Aachen University of Applied Sciences and RWTH Aachen University, where he also completed his doctorate. In addition, he earned an Executive MBA at RWTH Aachen University in cooperation with the University of St. Gallen (HSG), which complemented his technical background with strategic and economic expertise. After graduating, he began his professional career in 2002 at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University, where he spent several years working on application-oriented research and industrial projects. From 2007 to 2009, he was a Chief Engineer at the Chair of Machine Tools and worked at the interface between science and industry. In 2009, he joined WaldrichSiegen Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH, a leading manufacturer of heavy-duty machine tools. He held various management positions there over a number of years and was most recently Managing Director (COO) of the company. In this role, he was responsible for technological development and international market positioning. In 2015, Dr. Witt started working for the Jagenberg Group, where he held management positions in various companies within the Group. In 2021, he was appointed to the Executive Board of Jagenberg AG, where he was most recently responsible as CEO for the strategic realignment of the group and the expansion of its international activities in the field of machinery and plants for the processing and finishing of web-shaped materials. Dr. Witt is married and has two daughters.
