The modular performance dryer (MPD) delivers energy-efficient operation, maximum drying capacity, flexible heating options, and a compact design, ensuring cost-effective nonwoven drying. Its vertical drum arrangement optimizes floor space, while the 2-meter drum diameter and over 300° wrap angle provide exceptional drying performance. This next-generation drying solution supports a wide range of heating options, including sustainable energy sources such as biogas and green electricity. Additionally, its modular design allows for the seamless integration of different heating systems, ensuring adaptability to your specific production needs.
The patented intermediate chamber and burner distribution ring, combined with a heat recovery system, enable up to 20 % heating energy savings.
A walkway with door access streamlines servicing, reducing maintenance and cleaning time by up to 40 %.
The modular, stackable design allows the MPD to occupy 40 % less space than a standard multi-drum dryer.
The dryer's specifications can be configured with a range of heating options. In addition to natural gas, more sustainable alternatives such as hydrogen, biogas, electricity, steam, or thermal oil are available. Its modular design allows for customized heating combinations, such as natural gas and electricity, to meet specific production requirements while optimizing energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
There is a perfect MPD configuration for every hydroentangling line – whether it involves spunlaced wipes from polyester/viscose fiber blends or multi-layer cotton nonwovens. MPD is most advantageous when drying pulp-based materials, such as Wet-Laid/Spunlaced (WLS) or Carded/Pulp (CP) nonwovens, because both energy consumption and space requirements are minimized.
It is ideal for both new production lines and as a direct upgrade for existing dryers, ensuring seamless integration and enhanced efficiency in any production setup.
One of our customers encountered a limitation in the capacity of their spunlace production line due to the performance of the existing dryer. To resolve this, we replaced it with the MPD, installed within the same footprint and without modifying the line layout.
The upgrade led to a 30 % increase in drying capacity, with the potential to reach 40–45 % for certain products. At the same time, energy efficiency improved by 40 %, reducing operating costs and supporting sustainability goals. Importantly, the downtime during installation was less than a week, ensuring zero disruption to the customer’s business.
This successful upgrade highlights the MPD’s ability to boost both efficiency and energy performance, making it a smart solution for modernizing existing lines without expanding their footprint.
